This marble got its name from the village of Volakas located in Drama, a short distance from Nevrokopi. It is mined on Mount Falakro, and has been a tradition since antiquity. Its white color combined with its distinctive grey veins, has rightly made it one of the most commercial white marbles in the world. As a dolomite, it is an excellent choice for investments both indoors and outdoors due to its enormous resistance to abrasion or impact, but also its thermal resistance.
